The figure in my drawings is exposed selectively and subtly, emphasizing degrees of visibility and vulnerability. Landscape and figure merge and exchange dominance. The figure develops an internal architecture of its own where a narrative can take place. As in theater and dance, a cast of light, shadow, edge and line all move together to form an environment rich in texture, seductive in detail and elusive in time.
